Jerry Perry Named Executive Director for Chalk It Up to Sacramento
The Board of Directors of Chalk It Up to Sacramento announced this week that they have enlisted the services of Sacramento music promoter, Jerry Perry, to serve as Executive Director for the organization.
Perry, a legendary icon in the Sacramento music scene, was first brought in to book the talent for Chalk It Up in 2009 as attendance and enthusiasm for the beloved event was lagging. The festival has been gaining much larger audiences since that time. 2011 saw record crowds, estimated at over 30,000 people for the three day celebration.
“Jerry Perry has really become the public face of Chalk It Up over the past few years. I credit him with turning the festival around and making it better than ever”, stated Chalk It Up Board President, Alan Dismuke. “He’s a very enthusiastic supporter of the arts, and has been a tireless and dedicated volunteer for Chalk It Up. We’re very pleased to have his talent and experience in our corner.”
